The Lumpero Run was first held in 1985 and did not miss a year even during the coronavirus years. The competition center was initially at the now-demolished Kisasuoja, but since 2005 it has been located at the Saarijärvi sports field. The latest event took place on Sunday, August 18, 2019, in excellent conditions, and the Lumpero Run is also planned to be held in 2025.
